CM Pokharel instructs for peaceful election
BALEWA: APRIL. 6 – Gandaki State Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel has instructed the chiefs of security agencies to conduct the upcoming local level election in a fear-free environment.
The local level election is slated on May 13 in a single phase.
At a meeting organized by the local government in Baglung district today, CM Pokharel directed the chiefs of security agencies in the then four districts of Dhaulagiri to devise election-centric security plans.
Stating that the State government was ready to hold an election, Pokharel instructed to enable a fear-free environment for the voters to cast their ballots without any fear in the upcoming local level election.
During the meeting, the chief district officers of four districts had briefed the CM about the security conditions, strengths and challenges of the security situation in Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi and Mustang.
“The Election Commission of Nepal and the federal government would certainly devise a special plan for the upcoming election and the State government is ready to coordinate the effort for the same,” he pledged.
