Member Secretary Ghising returns to National Sports Council

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 6- Tankalal Ghising, Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, has returned to the National Sports Council as of Wednesday.

Ghising resumed his duties at the National Sports Council on Wednesday after the dispute over the National Sports Council’s member secretary was resolved. The controversy over the member secretary ended after the Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected the writ petition filed by the then National Sports Council member secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal against the government’s decision to dismiss him.

Ghising stated, upon his return to the National Sports Council, that he would make efforts for the national sports project during the current fiscal year. He stated that he would use the time until May 13 to develop a long-term plan for national sports.

Similarly, he stated that Nepal should receive the necessary training in order to increase its participation in international competitions. He stated that discussions will be held with all states in order to develop overall sports.

According to the Sports Development Act, 2077 BS, Minister for Youth and Sports Maheshwar Jung Gahatraj dismissed and appointed the member secretary.
