Investment Agreement between Siddhartha Bank and Heifer International
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 5 – On Tuesday, Siddhartha Bank and Heifer International Nepal agreed to provide low-interest loans to women entrepreneurs and small farmers.
The agreement has been signed by Chief Executive Officer of the Bank Sundar Prasad Kadel and National Director Dr Shubh Narayan Mahato on behalf of Heifer Nepal.
According to the agreement, the bank and Heifer International Nepal have signed an agreement to provide subsidized financial loans to women entrepreneurs and small farmers involved in the value chains of livestock-related sectors such as goat rearing, animal husbandry, and vegetables.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to assess and develop the ability of women entrepreneurs and small farmers to expand their businesses.
Social Entrepreneur Women’s Cooperative and local government are also involved in the scheme on behalf of Heifer Nepal. Women’s cooperatives or local governments will make it easier to connect the entrepreneur’s identity and recommendation with the bank.
Siddhartha Bank, which has 190 branch offices and 114 branchless banking services and the goal of providing high-quality banking services to society, is confident that it will facilitate the provision of loans to entrepreneurs in accordance with the agreement.
