Election Commission holding discussions with political parties
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 5 – The Election Commission is holding discussions with political parties on the code of conduct for local elections.
During the discussion, the commission plans to seek parties’ commitment to implementing the election code of conduct.
The commission also urged the parties to fully comply with the code of conduct on the occasion. According to Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel, all 79 local election parties have been invited to participate in the discussion.
Previously, the parties had made statements about the election code of conduct. Following this, Commission Chief Commissioner Dinesh Thapaliya stated that the code of conduct was developed based on the parties’ suggestions and that it should be followed by all.
