Woman fallen into well rescued safely

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 5 – A woman who had fallen into a deep well in Budhanilakantha Municipality, Kathmandu, was safely rescued by Nepal Police.

On Monday evening, a team from the Metropolitan Police Sector Budhanilantha and the Disaster Management Division rescued 45-year-old Pema Sharpa, who had fallen into a 50-foot-deep well. The incident occurred in Budhanilakantha Municipality-3, Mitrachowk, Kathmandu.

The joint rescue team completed the rescue operation in four hours, according to Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali. The rescued Sherpa is now a tenant at the home of a local Hari Shrestha. She’d been missing since 2:30 p.m.

She was released unconscious and has been receiving treatment at Karuna Hospital, Budhanilakantha-13.

There were 17 police persons in the rescue team.

The investigation into the accident is underway, according to Spokesperson Mainali, who also stated that Sherpa’s health condition has improved and she is now able to speak.
