Singer Raju Lama & actress Diya climbing Mt. Everest, plans to set a record by concert
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 5 – Mongolian Heart singer Raju Lama and actress Dia Pun are preparing to climb Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain. Prem Bahadur Ale, the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation on Monday bade farewell to singer Lama and actress Pun, who were on their way to climb Mt. Everest.
Singer Lama informed that there will be a musical program in the second week of Baisakh (April/May) at Camp 6 at an altitude of 6,500 meters including climbing Mt. Everest. He said: “I’m planning to climb Mt. Everest to reduce carbon emissions, promote tourism, and strengthen the relationship between music and the mountains.
On April 10th, he will depart for Mount Everest, while actress Diya will depart on April 6th. Pun, a Nepali actress, announced that she will climb the mountain in order to raise awareness about Nepali cinema around the world as well as the effects of climate change on the mountain.
Minister Ale presented Lama and Pun with the Nepalese national flag and wished them farewell and departure during a ceremony held at the Ministry. Minister Ale has expressed his commitment to assisting singer Lama and actress Pun as they prepare to summit Mt. Everest.
