Commission to take commitment of parties regarding code of conduct

KATHMANDU: APRIL. 3 – The commitment of political parties will be accepted by the Election Commission. The commission will seek parties’ commitments to implement the code of conduct for local elections.

On March 17, the Gazette published the local election code of conduct, which was approved. According to the commission’s secretary, Gokarnamani Duwadi, the commission will seek pledges from the 79 parties registered to vote in the local elections to follow the code of conduct.

On April 5, the commission will meet with the parties to discuss the code’s effective implementation.
