Benzema’s two goals helped Real Madrid win
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 3 – Real Madrid defeated Celta Vigo 2-1 in the Spanish La Liga, with forward Karim Benzema scoring both goals. On Saturday night, Benzema scored both goals at Vigo’s home stadium. Nolito returned a goal for Vigo.
Benzema took the lead in the 19th minute with a penalty. Nolito scored in the 52nd minute to tie the game at 1-1. Benzema missed a penalty in the 64th minute. However, in the 70th minute, Benzema scored from the penalty spot to secure Real’s victory.
With the win, Real has a stronghold on the top spot with 69 points from 30 games. Celta is in 11th place with 36 points.
Atletico Madrid beat Deportivo Alaves 4-1 in last night’s match. Luis Suarez and Joao Felix scored two goals apiece. Despite the same 57 points after the victory, Atletico is in third place.
