Qatar World Cup draw made public
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 2 – The FIFA World Cup group stage for this year’s tournament in Qatar has been drawn. The remaining three countries, including the organizers, will be decided only next June in the World Cup, which will feature 32 countries.
World Cup qualifiers from Europe include Germany, Denmark, France, Belgium, Croatia, Spain, Serbia, England, Switzerland, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Ghana, Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco, Cameroon, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Uruguay, and Uruguay. Mexico, the United States, Iran, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are the hosts.
The final three countries will be chosen from the playoff games. Scotland and Ukraine will meet in the play-off semi-finals next June, with the winner facing Wales in the finals. The winner of the playoff final will be selected in the World Cup.
According to FIFA, Peru will compete in the Inter-Continental Playoff in Asia with the winner of the match between the UAE and Australia. Costa Rica, likewise, will compete in the Inter-Continental Playoff from the North American region. Costa Rica will face the winner of the Oceania region, New Zealand, in the playoffs.
