Lucknow’s first win in IPL
KATHMANDU: APRIL. 1 – Lucknow Super Giants beat Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets to clinch their first victory in Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket.
Batting in reply to Chennai’s target of 211 runs in an exciting match on Thursday night, Lucknow completed the target by losing 4 wickets in 19 overs.
Quinton de Kock top-scored with 61 in Lucknow’s victory. Similarly, Evin Lewis contributed 55 runs and captain KL Rahul contributed 40 runs. Dwaine Pretorius of Chennai took 2 wickets.
Earlier, batting first, Chennai lost 7 wickets in 20 overs and scored 210 runs. Robin Uthappa was the top scorer for Chennai with 50 runs. Similarly, Shibam Dube scored 49 runs and Moin Ali scored 35 runs.
Lucknow’s Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets apiece. With the loss, Chennai could not add points in 2 games. In the first match, Chennai Knight Riders defeated Chennai. After the victory, Lucknow has added 2 points in 2 games. In the first match, Lucknow lost to Gujarat Titans.
