RAMALLAH: MARCH. 31 – A Palestinian man who carried out a stabbing attack in the West Bank was killed on Thursday, Israeli and Palestinian sources said.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement that Nidal Ja’afra, 30, was killed by Israeli soldiers near the Israeli settlement of Gush Etzion, south of Bethlehem, without giving more details.

According to a statement by an Israeli army spokesman, however, Ja’afra stabbed an Israeli citizen on bus, and was shot dead by an armed passenger on the same bus.

The statement added that the stabbed citizen was wounded and sent to an Israeli hospital, and he is in critical condition.

The stabbing attack came a few hours after two Palestinians were killed and 14 others injured by Israeli soldiers in the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.

Tension in Jenin comes for the second day in a row after a Palestinian gunman carried out a shooting attack that killed five Israelis in Tel Aviv on Tuesday night.
