Youth’s ‘Independent Candidacy Campaign’ for Local Government Candidates
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 31 – Under the slogan ‘Now Local Government, Independent Candidates at All 753 Local Levels,’ an independent candidacy campaign has been launched. The youth group announced an independent candidacy campaign in a press release issued on Thursday.
Through independent candidacy campaigns, 1,998 candidates have declared their candidacy in local elections so far. Through this campaign, a total of 4,657 people from across the country have filled out forms in order to compete.
The campaign will communicate its agenda to the public on three levels. A mentor or advisor will be assigned to the first level.
Experts in local government operations, infrastructure, education, health, and other fields will be included. On the second level, there will be an executive committee. It will serve as a link between the candidates and other necessary mechanisms, as well as the organization and the media.
Staff and volunteers will form the third level. Living at this level will aid in communication, coordination, design, and execution of work at higher levels.
