KATHMANDU: MARCH. 31 – The ruling parties have decided to work together in the upcoming local elections. The decision was made at a meeting of the ruling parties on Thursday morning at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

According to Jhala Nath Khanal, a respected leader of the CPN-Unified Socialist Party, the meeting decided to coordinate in the metropolitan from the center and in the sub-metropolitan, municipality, and village. The meeting also agreed to establish a grassroots party mechanism for election coordination.

He stated that the meeting will still take place. “It has been agreed to form a mechanism of all parties to go for unity in the local elections, the decision of the metropolitan from above, and decision for other municipalities from below,” Khanal said.
