KATHMANDU: MARCH. 31 – After the road construction was not completed, the road was blocked under the leadership of Shanti Nepal, Deputy Mayor of Gokarneshwor Municipality.

The Jorpati Sankhu road section has been closed in the border area of Gokarneshwor Municipality and Kageshwari Manohara Municipality.

Since 7 a.m., locals, including the deputy mayor, have blocked the road from Narayantar Bagmati Bridge to Dakshindhoka Bridge. The Jorpati-Sakhu road section, which has been under construction for the past six years, is still unfinished.

Locals and road users have suffered as a result of the suspension of road maintenance in many areas. “We finished the development work under the municipality.” ‘As the road was built with federal funds, the local government has no authority,’ Deputy Mayor Nepal told Makalu Khabar.

This road section is located in Kathmandu Constituencies 3 and 2. The election was won by CPN-Krishna UML’s Rai and Unified Socialist Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal. Rameshwor Phuyal of the CPN-UML has also taken the lead in the state constituency.

According to local Rajendra Sepahi, the road had to be blocked with the help of local people’s representatives as the federal parliamentarians were repeatedly informed about the bad condition of the road. A few days ago, the locals had blocked the road saying that no road has been constructed in the Thali area of ​​this road section.
