19 points should be self-declared while giving candidature at local level (with list)
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 30 – When a candidate registers for the local level election, he or she must declare 19 points along with the nomination paper.
The decision was made at the Election Commission’s meeting on Wednesday. The commission stated this while issuing the local level election guideline, 2079, to manage the legal and procedural arrangements related to the local level, according to the commission’s spokesperson, Shaligram Sharma Poudel.
Provisions pertaining to the Election Officer, Chief Electoral Officer, Polling Officer and Staff, and Election Stakeholders Scholarships, Duties, and Authority Qualifications and Nomination of Candidates, Voter List, Voting, and Issues Related to Effective Election Management, including Arrangements for Vote Counting.
The Commission has made an arrangement under which any person who is qualified to be a candidate in the local level election under Nepal’s constitution and the applicable legal provisions should declare himself/herself while registering the nomination.
