UML demands resignation of Chief Minister KC
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 30 – Lumbini State’s CPN (UML) has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Kul Prasad KC.
The UML parliamentary party has demanded Chief Minister KC’s resignation, claiming that he have compromised in the contract for the Lumbini State Hospital building.
The construction of the 10-storey hospital building with 1,200 beds was contracted for around Rs 1.5 billion. The contract was cancelled on March 28 after the Public Procurement Monitoring Office found a mistake in the contracting process.
Ananta Raj Ghimire, the CEO of the Infrastructure Development Authority, has resigned. The UML, on the other hand, believes that cancelling the contract process and resigning the executive officer will not absolve the government of its responsibility.
On Wednesday, Deputy Leader of the Parliamentary Parliamentary Party Baijnath Chaudhary demanded Chief Minister KC’s resignation.
According to Kul Prasad KC, the chairperson of the state infrastructure development committee, the compromised was done during the contract process.
