Approval of Shrestha’s name in SC Judge

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 29 – The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has approved the name of Til Prasad Shrestha as the proposed Supreme Court (SC) Judge.

The committee unanimously approved the name of Supreme Court Judge Shrestha proposed by the Judicial Council at a meeting held on Tuesday at Singha Durbar.

Laxman Lal Karna, the committee’s coordinator, stated that his name was unanimously approved after he became qualified and experienced.

“He was selected for the post of Supreme Court judge after it was confirmed during the hearing that he was qualified, competent, and experienced,” he said.

In response to a question from the lawmakers present, Shrestha stated that he would work to prevent people from throwing stones at the Supreme Court. The Judicial Council meeting on March 11 recommended Shrestha for the post of Supreme Court judge.
