People’s representatives should work in a way that people believe in : Chairperson Timilsina
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 27 – Ganesh Timilsina, Chairperson of the National Assembly, has stated that the people’s representatives should work in a way that the people can trust.
Timilsina said at a program organized by the National Federation of Villages Nepal in Kathmandu on Saturday that people’s representatives should work by understanding their responsibility to the people.
Those who want to repeat at the local level, he says, should also self-evaluate their contributions to the country, people, and society.
He stated that the task of building the country belongs to all citizens, and that it is the responsibility of the people’s representatives to hold citizens accountable to the country.
Timilsina stated that people’s representatives should be chosen with caution, keeping misconceptions in mind.
At the event, a resource booklet on the operation of village assemblies/municipal councils and the legislative process was released.
