Oli urges Chinese Foreign Minister to move ahead with BRI project & operate checkpoint

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 27 – Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has urged China to expedite BRI-related projects.

During a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Oli requested that the BRI project be moved forward and that Nepal-China border checkpoints be operated, according to Dr. Rajan Bhattarai, Chief of Foreign Affairs of the CPN-UML.

He stated that the BRI’s road, rail, irrigation, hydropower, border checkpoints, health, and education projects should be implemented as soon as possible.

He also stated that China was committed to starting both short-term and long-term projects as soon as possible.
