Chinese Foreign Minister meets with President Bhandari
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 27 – President Bidya Devi Bhandari and visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi have met.
Today, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is on a three-day visit to Nepal, met with President Sheetal Niwas at the President’s Office.
This morning, Foreign Minister Wang arrived at Shital Niwas to meet with President Bhandari. During the meeting, Nepal-China relations, as well as BRI projects, were discussed. Wang is said to be concerned about the BRI project’s non-implementation.
In an interview with a Chinese newspaper a few days ago, President Bhandari expressed regret that the BRI project had not progressed. President Bhandari spoke at a BRI meeting in Beijing in Baisakh 2076.
Before returning home, Wang is holding separate meetings with UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and UCPN (Maoist) Central Chairperson Prachanda.
Foreign Minister Wang arrived at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Saturday and met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in bilateral talks. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka had a meeting.
Nine different projects were signed between Nepal and China during that course. After a three-day visit, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will return home on Sunday afternoon. On March 25, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang led a 19-member delegation to Nepal.
