POKHARA: MARCH. 27 – The Pokhara International Airport, built with Chinese government assistance, has been handed over to the Nepalese government. On Saturday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi handed over the keys to Pokhara Airport to Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka in the presence of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Prem Bahadur Ale, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation presented a letter of appreciation to the airport construction company at Pokhara International Airport during a special program in Pokhara. 93 percent work of the airport project has been completed. Airport decoration, finishing and other works are left.

The construction work of 14 buildings including runway, aircraft parking, taxi parking, apron, hangar, terminal building and transformer has already been completed.

One of the passenger boarding bridges at Pokhara International Airport that leads directly to the aircraft has been connected, and another is still being installed.

Despite the fact that the construction work was supposed to be completed and handed over on July 10, the work was delayed a year due to the COVID-19.

The test flight is targeted at the airport from next Baisakh (April/May). Aircraft up to Boeing 757 and Airbus 320 can take off and land at the airport.
