PNG defeats Nepal by 6 runs

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 25 – Nepal was defeated by Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 6 runs in an ODI. Nepal lost 8 wickets in 50 overs while chasing a 293-run target in Kirtipur, scoring only 286 runs.
Despite a record-breaking performance by Rohit Poudel, Nepal was unable to win. He scored the most runs for Nepal in ODIs, with 126. In 107 balls, he hit seven fours and four sixes. He holds the Paras Khadka record for most runs scored.
Rohit is also the second Nepali to score a century in one-day internationals. He also put up a record-breaking 104-run fifth-wicket stand with Aarif Sheikh.
Rohit has also become the highest-scoring Nepali player in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). This is his fifth half-century in ODIs. Former Nepal captain Gyanendra Malla has four international half-centuries, and Paras Khadka has two.
PNG batted first after losing the toss and scored 292 runs despite losing 8 wickets.
