Kidney transplant service likely in Karnali by this year

KARNALI: MARCH. 25 – The Karnali State Hospital, Surkhet will be launching a kidney transplant service within the current fiscal year.

The Human Organ Transplant Centre (Shahid Dharma Bhakta Hospital) and the Province Hospital signed a memorandum to this regard here on Thursday.

Centre executive director Dr Pukar Chandra Shrestha and State Hospital director Dr Dambar Khadka signed on the agreement on behalf of their respective sides. As Dr Khadka said, they have planned to launch the services for kidney transplants within the current fiscal year.

The Centre functioning under the Ministry of Health and Population has agreed to expand dialysis services in health facilities under the State Hospital as well.
