‘Local level election integrated security policy’ passed
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 24 – The government has passed the ‘Local Level Election Integrated Security Policy’ in order to hold fair and fearless local elections.
On Thursday, the ‘Local Level Election Integrated Security Policy’ was approved by the security committee, which was chaired by Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand.
According to Home Ministry spokesperson Phanindra Mani Pakharel, the security committee meeting approved the election-related integrated security policy. “It is now easier to hold scheduled local elections as well as other elections in accordance with the same security policy.” ‘The policy contributes to a fair and fearless election,’ he said.
Instructions to make necessary security arrangements during Wang’s visit
The meeting also discussed how to manage security during Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s three-day visit to Nepal beginning on Friday.
During the meeting, Home Minister Khand directed the security chiefs to make the necessary security arrangements for Chinese Foreign Minister Wang’s visit.
The meeting was informed by the security chiefs that they had devised a strategy to complete the visit peacefully.
