Government not intended to bother entrepreneurs: Home Minister Khand

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 22 – Minister for Home Affairs, Balkrishna Khand, has said the government was working to build an atmosphere conducive for the protection, promotion and enhancement of domestic industries and enterprises.

During his meeting with a delegation from the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry at his office today, the Home Minister stressed the need of promoting industries and enterprises to increase revenue collection.

On the occasion, he pledged to come to grips with problems of the business community and said, “The government is ready to address of issues of entrepreneurs. We commit to revising the relevant laws and acts as per the need of time and facilitate the operation of enterprises, we do not intend to cause inconvenience to the business community,” he said, urging the business circle to be also proactive in tackling the related issues.

He stressed that the business community too should help the government make sure the effective implementation of the State policies and laws. On the occasion, Chamber President Subodh Kumar Gupta apprised the minister of the problems they are facing in course of operating the business.

As they complained before the Home Minister, prices of medicines have not been reviewed and revised for around eight years, customs and border points have failed to deliver efficient services, border security is not encouraging and they face unnecessary security hassles in internal supplies.
