Finance Minister’s request to bring capital earned and learned skills to Nepal
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 22 – Finance Minister Janardan Shama has advocated for the use of capital and skills acquired abroad in Nepal.
On the occasion of the 10th World Conference of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Minister Sharma stated that investment from outside could not be expected and called for bringing capital and learned skills to Nepal.
He stated that the country has high regard for NRNA. He stated that NRNA has played an important role in the country’s development.
Similarly, Finance Minister Sharma said that it has been made easy for NRNA to open a bank account in Nepal and urged everyone to open a bank account by keeping 1000 dollars.
He said that the investment brought from various partner organizations was not enough as Rs 17 to 20 trillion investment was required annually for the development of the country. Finance Minister Sharma noted that the government was willing to invest in the country’s infrastructure.
He said that the country’s trade deficit could not be reduced unless the rural economy was developed.
