KATHMANDU: MARCH. 22 – Nepal has again lost to UAE in the ODI World Cup League Two Cricket. Following the UAE’s target of 203 runs, Nepal was all out for 103 runs in 35 overs and lost by 99 runs. Nepal’s Gyanendra Malla top scored with 30 runs. Apart from Aarif Sheikh and Sompal Kami who scored 15-15 and Binod Bhandari 12 runs, no batsman was able to add double figures.

Nepal, which started losing wickets in the second over, could not maintain its hopes of winning the game at any time. Gyanendra and Aarif shared 33 runs for the fifth wicket.

Nepal’s dream of taking revenge on UAE has not been fulfilled this time as no batsman has been able to bat reliably.

It is also the lowest run in ODI cricket in Nepal. In the match against UAE on January 25, 2019, Nepal was bowled out for 113 runs. Which was Nepal’s lowest score in ODI cricket so far. Today, Nepal has done a bad job of forgetting that bad performance.

Nepal had changed three players today and sent Kushal Bhurtel and Pawan Sharraf as opening batsmen. But even this strategy did not work. Kushal was out for 5 in the second over while Pawan was out for 2 in the third over. Soon after, Dipendra Singh Airee was out for zero in the next ball.

When Rohit Poudel was out for 9 runs, Nepal had 21 runs in their account. After Aarif was out for 15 for the fifth wicket, Binod Bhandari was out for 12.

Batting first after losing the toss, the home team lost 9 wickets in 50 overs and scored 202 runs.

Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane took three wickets while Karan KC and Sompal Kami took two wickets each. Similarly, Dipendra Singh Airee and Aarif Sheikh took one wicket each. Rohan Mustafa of UAE scored 60 runs.

In the previous match of the series, Nepal had lost to UAE by 48 runs. Chasing the target of 169 runs, Nepal was all out for 120 runs.
