Demonstration at Maitighar against Letang incident [Photos]

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 21 – A protest has taken place in Kathmandu Maitighar in response to the incident in Letang, Morang.

On Sunday, Letang was tense after a teacher was accused of sexually abusing his own students. A female police officer was killed in a shootout with locals who had come to arrest the alleged teacher.

At Maitighar, all revolutionaries who supported the revolution staged a protest against the incident. Protesters chanted slogans such as “End violence against women,” “Hang the rapists,” “Ensure the safety of schoolgirls,” “End sexual abuse,” and “Justice for the Victims.”

They have demanded justice for the victim girl and the deceased police officer, as well as harsh punishment for the perpetrators.
