AGENCY: MARCH. 21 – According to the governor of Sevastopol, a port city on the Crimean Peninsula, a senior naval commander from Russia’s Black Sea Fleet was killed in Ukraine on Sunday.

The fleet’s deputy commander, Post-Captain Andrei Paliy, was killed during fighting in the eastern Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, according to Mikhail Razvozhayev on the messaging app Telegram.

Russia’s Black Sea Fleet is headquartered in Sevastopol.
