Oil Corporation besieges against price hike
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 20 – Students have surrounded the central office of Nepal Oil Corporation against the increase in the price of petroleum products.
On Sunday, Akhil (Revolutionary), a student organization affiliated with the CPN (Maoist) and led by Biplav, besieged the corporation, demanding that the price increase on petroleum products be reversed immediately.
They have chanted slogans such as “Reject price rise, control rising prices”.
They also stated that by reducing petroleum products, the use of electronic materials should be encouraged. According to the latest price hike, petrol has gone up to Rs 155 per liter and diesel and kerosene to Rs 138 per liter.
The corporation, on the other hand, has stated that even after the increase, there is a loss.
