Maoist Karnali Chief Whip Bista suspended
SURKHET: MARCH. 20 – Thammar Bahadur Bista, Chief Whip of the Karnali State Parliamentary Party, has been suspended from the CPN-Maoist. Party leader Mahendra Bahadur Shahi issued a statement saying Bista had been suspended from the party.
Bista has been suspended, according to a statement signed by party leader Shahi, as he has been making statements and engaging in activities that are contrary to the party’s constitution on a regular basis.
“The meeting of the CPN (Maoist) Central Karnali State Sabha party was held on March 17 in the context of Thammar Bahadur Bista, a member of the Karnali State party. It is learned that he has been suspended from the party for disobeying the instructions given to him to withdraw his resignation and resume his regular activities.
Entering UML
Bista, who has been suspended, is scheduled to enter CPN-UML today. Senior Vice Chairperson of the party, Ishwor Pokhrel, is expected to greet him at a large gathering of party cadres and a party entry program held at Birendranagar City Hall.
CPN-UML Karnali has stated that it is preparing to incorporate Bista and other district committee members into the party.
While he was the chief whip, he had announced his resignation from the party on March 11.
