93 percent of target group vaccinated against COVID-19

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 20 – The government has successfully vaccinated 93 percent of the target populations against COVID-19.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 18,498,160 people over the age of 18 have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Similarly, the total number of people who have received all of their vaccinations is 16,184,858. This corresponds to 81.2 percent of the total target population.

In addition, 3,118,785 (91 percent) of people aged 12 to 17 were vaccinated for the first time. The total number of people under the age of 18 who have been fully vaccinated is 2,311,998. (67 percent).

Until March 18, a total of 39,223,941 vaccines have been provided to all age groups, according to the ministry. There are 18,695,826 first doses, 18,698,595 second doses, and 1,829,520 quantity booster doses available.

Vaccines from Vero Cell, Covishield, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson have been provided by the Nepalese government. Including grant assistance and procurement, the government had received a total of 47,882,800 doses of the vaccine.

In Nepal, there are currently 3,996 active cases of COVID-19. Since the COVID-19 outbreak in Nepal, a total of 1,118,180 people have tested positive for the virus. So far, the virus has claimed the lives of 11,950 people.

The Nepalese government has set a goal of vaccinating everyone over the age of 18 against COVID-19 by mid-April 2021. To achieve the goal of “100% vaccination,” only 7% of the population must be vaccinated.

Even among those under the age of 18, only 9% of the population has received the full dose vaccine.
