Biplav-led CPN (Maoist) Central Committee meeting begins
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 18 – Central Committee meeting of the Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ has started. According to party spokesperson Khadka Bahadur Bishwakarma, the meeting is scheduled to be held at 8 am on Friday in Kapilvastu’s Shivgadhi to decide on the party’s role in the local elections has started late.
The meeting is watching with interest as the meeting will take a policy decision on whether to use or boycott the local level election on May 13. In the secretariat meeting held on March 10, General Secretary Biplav had proposed to use the election. There is no consensus at the highest level of the CPN (Maoist) on the proposal. It is said that this meeting will decide on this issue.
In the five-member secretariat meeting, only spokesperson Prakhand was in favor of Biplav’s proposal. Dharmendra Bastola and Hemant Prakash Oli ‘Sudarshan’ were against it. Another member of the secretariat, Santosh Budha Magar, remained neutral. It is estimated that the Central Committee meeting will take the policy of using the election as there is a revolt in the party and spokesperson Prakanda.
