TEHRAN: MARCH. 17 – A total of 16 crew members of an Emirati merchant shipwreck in the Gulf have been rescued, a local Iranian official told Tasnim news agency on Thursday.
Operators were dispatched to the accident zone to rescue other crew members of the ship, said Director General of Iran’s Bushehr Province Crisis Management Jahangir Dehqani.
Earlier in the day, the official IRNA news agency reported that the ship belonging to the United Arab Emirates sank 30 miles (48 km) from Iran’s southern port city of Assaluyeh with 30 crew members floating on water.
The Emirati cargo ship, carrying vehicles, sank in bad weather conditions, IRNA said.
