Through 28 commands, Maoists became election-centric

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 17 – In preparation for the local elections, the ruling Maoist Center has formed 28 commands. Leader Shakti Basnet reported that 28 commands covering all seven states had been formed. The UCPN (M) has set a slogan for the May 13 local elections.

The Maoists have stated that the election manifesto for the local elections is being prepared. A letter of appeal is also being prepared for the center’s local leaders. Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Chairperson of the Maoist Center, has stated that the Maoists are preparing to contest the election on their own strength.

The command was established in accordance with the number of districts in the state. State 1 and Bagmati have 5 each command, Madhesh, Gandaki, and Lumbini have 4 each command, and Karnali and the Far Western States have 3 each command. State-level leaders will command these commands.

Top leaders are preoccupied with state-level training programs. Leaders have arrived in Lumbini, including Chairperson Prachanda and senior leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

How were the districts covered under the command?

Five commands have been formed in State 1.

2, Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari
3, Dhankuta, Tehrathum and Sankhuwasabha
4, Bhojpur, Khotang and Udayapur
5, Solukhumbu and Okhaldhunga

Four commands have been formed in Madhesh State.

1, Saptari and Siraha
2, Dhanusha and Mahottari
3, Sarlahi and Rautahat
4, Bara and Parsa

Five commands have been formed in Bagmati State.

1, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur
2, Chitwan and Makwanpur
3, Dhading, Nuwakot and Rasuwa
4, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha and Kavrepalanchowk
5, Sindhuli and Ramechhap

Four commands have been formed in Gandaki State

1, Gorkha, Lamjung and Manang
2, Tanahun, Nawalparasi East
3, Syangja, Kaski and Parbat
4, Baglung, Myagdi and Mustang

Four commands have been formed in Lumbini State

1, Nawalparasi West, Rupandehi and Kapilvastu
2, Palpa, Gulmi and Arghakhanchi
3, Pyuthan, Rukum East and Rolpa
4, Dang, Banke and Bardiya

Three commands have been formed in Karnali State

1, Surkhet, Dailekh and Salyan
2, Jajarkot, Dolpa and Rukum West
3, Kalikot, Jumla, Mugu and Humla

Three commands have been formed in the Far West State.

1, Achham, Doti and Bajura
2, Baitadi, Bajhang and Darchula
3, Kailali, Kanchanpur and Dadeldhura
