National football team engaged in preparation for international games

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 17 – Nepali national football team is busy preparing for the international friendly match against Thailand in the second week of Chaitra (March).

The Nepali team has increased their practice time in preparation for a friendly match against the Thai national team and a club.

Abdullah Al Mutairi, the head coach of the two friendly matches on March 24 and 27, has invited 25 players for closed training. Nepal is ranked 167th in the FIFA rankings while Thailand is ranked 112th.

According to coach Abdullah Al Mutairi, the friendly game will be crucial in preparing for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. He also stated that the state of Nepal’s game would be evaluated prior to the Asian Cup qualifiers.

Despite Thailand’s strength, Nepal is gearing up to win the friendly match, he said.

Nepal will travel to Thailand to prepare for the third round of the AFC Asian Cup China 2023. In the selection, Nepal is in a difficult group. Nepal, Jordan, Kuwait, and Indonesia are all members of Group A.
