Maoist center in Lumbini: 253-member committee formed
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 16 – The Maoist Center Lumbini State Committee’s officials have been chosen. An agreement had previously been reached in the name of Sudarshan Baral for the position of state chairperson, but the announcement of the state committee could not be made due to disagreement among other office-bearers.
The Maoist Central State Committee’s first plenary meeting, held in Kapilvastu on Wednesday, unanimously elected the 253-member state committee, under the chairmanship of Sudarshan Baral of Gulmi, a former Lumbini state government social development minister.
The state committee’s vice-chairpersons are Durga Tharu of Bardiya, Numa Kanta Neupane of Dang, and Bir Bahadur Khatri of Rolpa, with Krishna Adhikari of Pyuthan as secretary. As joint secretaries, Akal Bahadur Bam of Banke, Parbati Bishwakarma of Palpa, Kashiram Yadav of Kapilvastu, and Nirdosh Ali of Rupendehi have been chosen.
The newly elected office bearers have been sworn in by Maoist center leader Barsaman Pun, Lumbini in-charge Chakrapani Khanal and others.
