Manakamana Cable Car to give 1% profit to Rural Municipality, special discount to locals

POKHARA: MARCH. 15 – Gorkha’s Manakamana Cable Car has agreed to give 1% of its profits to the Rural Municipality. A collaboration agreement has been reached between the corporation and the company.

Chairperson Ramesh Babu Thapa stated that it has been agreed to provide the municipality with a 1% profit every three months for the development of wards 2 and 3 under social responsibility.

According to the new agreement, citizens of Wards 1–3 and their relatives will receive an 80 percent discount on cable car fares, while employees and workers will receive a 65 percent discount.

Similarly, employees in rural municipalities and subordinate offices, as well as citizens in wards other than 1, 2, 3, and 5, will receive a 25% discount. Citizens of the affected areas will be able to bring up to 20 kg of luggage free of charge.
