Tension in Birat Hospital after death of patient
BIRATNAGAR: MARCH. 14 – Tensions have risen following the death of a patient while receiving treatment at Biratnagar Hospital Pvt. Ltd. in Biratnagar. Tensions have risen at the hospital after the death of Kaushalya Sah of Dhanpalthan Rural Municipality-4 of Morang, who was admitted for uterine treatment.
The deceased’s relatives claim that Kaushilya died as a result of the hospital’s negligence. The relatives of the deceased, who had protested in front of the hospital until midnight, vandalized the nursing home as well. The relatives, according to police, pelted stones at the hospital.
The relatives of the deceased have staged agitation demanding action against the negligent person. The deceased’s relatives have accused the hospital of negligence after three operations on her uterus. The police were mobilized after the hospital was vandalized.
Janardan GC, Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Morang, stated that the police had been mobilized to prevent any damage after the relatives of the deceased staged a protest. The hospital administration stated that there was no negligence.
Though discussions were held between the hospital administration and the police till night, no conclusion has been reached. SP GC said that the issue will be discussed again today.
