An impeachment motion against CJ was tabled in the HoR

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 13 – The House of Representatives has approved an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana. Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkata stated that the impeachment motion proposal and the chief whip of the Maoist center, Dev Prasad Gurung, would be discussed at the next meeting.

Gurung informed the meeting about the reason for filing the impeachment motion, stating that Chief Justice Rana’s actions violated the principle of separation of powers. The impeachment motion was tabled in the meeting amid sloganeering by lawmakers from the main opposition party, the CPN-UML.
