Discussion begins on the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 13 – The House of Representatives has begun debating an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana. Dev Prasad Gurung, chief whip of the ruling coalition party Maoist Central Parliamentary Party, submitted the impeachment motion to the House of Representatives on Sunday.

“He does not have a constitutional status,” Gurung said, adding that he was unable to find work as a constitutional council member.

On February 13, 98 House members filed an impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana.

The main opposition party, on the other hand, stuck to its “continuity” slogan. UML MP Bhim Bahadur Rawal, on the other hand, requested time with the speaker to express his views.
