Election Commission summons 17 political parties

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 11 – The Election Commission has begun discussions with political parties as the local level election approaches.

In preparation for the May 13 election, the commission has summoned representatives from 17 political parties at the federal, state, and local levels.

Shaligram Sharma Poudel, the commission’s spokesperson, announced that the discussion will begin at 11:30 a.m. today.

According to him, the Election Commission will inform the public about the progress made thus far and will solicit feedback/suggestions.

The commission has requested each political party to send two representatives including a leader. For the upcoming local elections, eighty political parties have applied for registration with the commission.
