Rangeli’s mayor & deputy mayor left UCPN (M) and joined UML
BIRATNAGAR: MARCH. 9 – Rangeli Mayor Dilip Bagadiya, who won the local elections from the CPN-Maoist Center, has joined UML.
Bagadiya, who was nominated by the UCPN (M) in the last local elections, recently joined the UML due to dissatisfaction with the UCPN (M) leadership.
UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, who attended a Terai Madhesh-centric public meeting in Rangeli organized by CPN-UML Morang, welcomed Bagadiya to the party.
According to CPN-UML Morang Chairperson Rishikesh Pokharel, approximately 5,000 Nepali Congress and UCPN-M cadres have joined UML from Morang’s various municipalities.
The CPN-Maoist issued a statement on Tuesday stating that it had taken action against Mayor Bagadiya’s party. The mayor was sent a letter to the Election Commission to take action, according to a statement issued in the name of the state committee, as the action was taken without even the ordinary members of the party.
The program is said to have been organized in Rangeli under the leadership of Bagadiya. UML Morang Chairperson Pokharel informed that Deputy Mayor of Rangeli Municipality Keshav Kumari Kharal and some elected ward chairpersons have also joined UML.
