Maoists could not take the lead in the change due to contradictions within party: Prachanda
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 9 – Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Center), has stated that the Maoists have been unable to take the lead in the country’s transformation due to factionalism and contradictions within the party.
Addressing a plenary meeting of the Central Ad Hoc Committee of the Federation of Nepalese Industry Entrepreneurs (Proposed) in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Prachanda said that the Maoists were the main carrier of today’s change but could not establish it due to factionalism and contradictions within the party. He also stated that he has been unable to break out the traditional party and leadership building norms.
He stated that he had proposed inclusiveness in the party’s central committee, as well as external sector participation and that the party as a whole was serious about it. Similarly, Prachanda stated that the constitution was still under attack and that he was working to defend it. He stated that the socialist-oriented economy should be properly implemented.
Similarly, the federation’s founding president, Krishna Prasad Acharya, complained that businessmen were denied a seat on the Maoists’ various committees.
Participants also suggested that necessary steps be taken to revive the current economy.
