French lawmakers’ delegation in Nepal
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 8 – A delegation of French parliamentarians arrived in Nepal on Tuesday for an official visit.
A three-member delegation led by Véronique Riotton, President of the Nepal Parliamentary Friendship Group, has arrived.
A French parliamentary delegation has arrived in Nepal at the invitation of Madhav Kumar Nepal, former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Nepal-France Inter-Parliamentary Group, who is also the Chairperson of the Unified Socialists, according to the French Embassy in Kathmandu.
The delegation includes Nicolas Forissier Graziella Melchior, vice-chairperson of the France-Nepal Parliamentary Friendship Group. During the official visit, the French MPs will meet President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Timilsina, former Prime Minister and Leader of the Main Opposition Party KP Sharma Oli.
The French MP will also meet with representatives from Nepal’s private sector and think tanks. According to the embassy, the visit is intended to strengthen bilateral ties between Nepal and France.
