Gandaki CM visits religious sites in Matihani
MAHOTTARI: MARCH. 7 – Visiting Gandaki State Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel today reached religious sites at Matihani and performed a puja here.
Presently, the Chief Minister is on a three-day goodwill visit to the Madhesh Province beginning from March 5.
During his final day of the visit, he got to the Shree Laxmi Narayan Temple and the historic Laxmi Sagar Pond.
Laxmi Sagar Pond is believed to be the place from where the soil was dug for constructing an altar during the marriage ceremony of mythical characters Ram and Sita. The Chief Minister offered prayers to the Laxmi Sagar and joined aarti.
On the occasion, Matihani municipality mayor Hari Prasad Mandal, priests and the business community welcomed the Chief Minister to the town.
The Chief Minister also visited the Rajakiya Sanskrit Secondary School (1775 BS) and joined a usual ritual performance by students here.
He also inspected a newly constructed stadium at Maithani, Atighigriha (guest house), Ghantaghar, a tower clock, and the Matihani Entrance Gate.
The Gandaki CM said the visit was an opportunity for him to know about the Madhesh, its people and development endeavours here.
He arrived here last Saturday at the invitation of his Madhesh States counterpart Lalbabu Raut.
