Political parties petitioned government to provide assistance to victims of Tanahun fire

DAMAULI: MARCH. 7 – The Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN (UML) have asked the government to provide relief to families affected by a massive fire in Damauli, Tanahun district, on Sunday afternoon.

Separate statements from the leaders of the parties expressed their sorrow over the loss of physical property while calling for appropriate relief for those affected.

In their statements, Secretary of NC Tanahun Laxmi Bhakta Khanal and Under Secretary of UML district committee Pradip Raj Adhikari thanked everyone for their help in putting out the fire.

According to preliminary estimates, the fire destroyed property worth a million dollars. The details of the losses have yet to be confirmed, according to the police.

According to police, a Bhupal Hardware warehouse in Damauli has been completely gutted to a cinder, and Jyoti Kumar Shrestha’s three-story house has suffered partial damage at the back.

Similarly, the fire damaged a part of the three-storey Balaram Rana building, two shops at Tanahunsur Mini Market, and multiple other homes and business firms.

The fire, which started in the warehouse of Bhupal Hardware, quickly spread, causing massive damage in Damauli Bazar’s main market area.

Likewise, security officials and the business community said they are collecting the details of the damages. The reason behind the fire outbreak is not confirmed so far.
