RPP leader Sherchan dies at 78
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 6 – Ganesh Sherchan, the RPP’s leader, has died.
Sherchan, 78, died on Sunday morning at Grande Hospital after a long battle with diabetes and kidney disease.
Sherchan was the founding leader of RPP and the General Secretary of RPP Nepal. During the king’s direct rule, he was also the regional administrator.
RPP Chairperson Rajendra Lingden expressed sadness and shock at Sherchan’s death.
Similarly, in a condolence statement, RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha stated that Sherchan was an honest patriot and nationalist personality and that his death had harmed the party and Nepal’s nationalist movement.
According to family members, Sherchan’s funeral will be held on Sunday at Pashupati Aryaghat. Sherchan is survived by his wife, three sons and one daughter.
