Reconstruction of house of Asanbhalu Ajima begins
KATHMANDU: MARCH. 5 – The reconstruction of the house of Asanbhalu Ajima (Goddess Annapurna) at Bhotahiti in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-27 has begun. The Metropolis Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction work amid a function here on Friday.
Ornaments of Annapurna Ajima, a statue to be taken out during Devi’s procession and musical instruments and materials related to it will be kept in the house, it has been said.
On the occasion, Mayor Shakya said that the KMC on behalf of the state has provided assistance for repair and reconstruction of cultural heritages of Kathmandu as resources of Guthis would not be enough.
The local level has been authorised to protect and conserve local culture, heritage, languages, art and literature, he said that the KMC had been acting accordingly.
Annapurna Daya:Chhe consumers committee has undertaken the reconstruction work. The project spanning two ana two dam land aims to be complete by mid-January, 2023. The project cost is estimated to be approximately Rs 7.6 million provided by the KMC.
