KATHMANDU: MARCH. 5 – The partial prohibitory order issued in Kathmandu Valley has been lifted completely. With the spread of the Omicron variant, all restrictions imposed following the third wave of COVID-19 infection in Nepal have been lifted as of today.

The decision was made at a joint meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur on Friday. The order, which was issued separately by the three districts, lifts all restrictions on COVID-19 prevention and control.

As the COVID-19 infection spread, the District Administration Office imposed bans at different times in the past, in accordance with a Council of Minister’s decision. The smart lockdown went into effect in the Kathmandu Valley on Feb 6.
